The first time I saw Star Wars I was very, "Go Rebels! Light side ALL the way." But as I grew up I realized. As I grew up I realized that yeah they're portrayed as the "good guys." But in the Original Trilogy they are the bad guys. They are rebels. Activists. Extremists.
In Star Wars Episodes I through III, the Dark Side is the bad guys. But come Episodes IV, V, and VI the rebellion are the ones shaking down the universe, while the Imperial Army, and The First Order who both work along side the Dark Side, are for organization and order. The Dark Side is the democracy and governing power we push for in reality.
Given the choice between being a Jedi or a Sith, what would you choose?
As a kid, just learning and seeing the Light Side being the Jedi I did the whole Jedi thing. But now... Sith, every time. Why not use your emotion to give you power, rather than suppress it? And come to think of it... sex is awesome. Something else the Jedi Priesthood (let's just call it what it is) would stand against.
So yeah, I'd look the bad guy. Be scary. So scary I don't need to do a damn thing to get shit done my way. I'll keep my emotions on my sleeve to make my power stronger, and I'll get the kick ass weapons the bad guys always seem to get. I'll stand for order in the universe, and enjoy myself some sexual pleasures. After all, my mind powers work on the week minded.
How much fun could a Sith Lord have?
