Marshawn Lynch tweeted a cryptic picture of cleats over a telephone wire. This was seen as his announcing retirement, but his agent fueled the possibility that he may not be finished. "With Marshawn, I'll never say never." If he didn't actually know Lynch's plan, it is his job you surround his players with hype to increase their value. However, if he did know, that was just a dick move.
In an interview with 60 Minutes Sports, Lynch dismissed all rumours of his return after being asked if he was interested in playing for his hometown Oakland Raiders. "No, I'm done. I'm done. I enjoyed my time time playing."
Lynch has still yet to file his retirement papers with the NFL but is persistent with his answers when asked if he'll return.
"I'm retired. Is that good enough? Which camera do you want me to look into? This one? I'm done. I'm not playing football anymore."
